What is the difference between these two scenarios? What is the speed limit after the sequence of signs on the right side? Is it 120 kph? Or is it no limit?

There is also no speed limit in the right side scenario.
But there is a probable another sign, like no passing for trucks, that would still be active in the right side scenario, but would end in the left side. Left side ends everything.
In general, there is no speed limit on the German Autobahn except for when clearly stated otherwise. So if the speed limit (100 in the right scenario) is lifted, the basic rule applies again, which is no speed limit until another sign appears.
The left one combines end of speed limit and end of passing zone.
The right one is only end of speed limit.
The allowed speed after them depends on which road you are (on city, highway, etc.) and not on previous signs.
