Germany plans to establish a joint cyber research center with Israel aimed at strengthening cooperation between the intelligence and security agencies of both countries. This was announced by Germany’s Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt, according to Reuters.
Dobrindt emphasized that Germany remains one of Israel’s closest allies in Europe, increasingly drawing on its defense expertise. This helps Germany enhance its military capabilities and take a more active role in NATO, especially amid growing threats from Russia and China.
“Military defense alone is not sufficient for this pivotal moment in security. Significant improvements in civil defense are also crucial to strengthening our collective defense capabilities.”

Additionally, Germany plans to implement a new cyber defense system, which the minister described as a “cyber dome.” This system will become an important part of the country’s overall cyber defense strategy.
Dobrindt also presented a concept consisting of five key points that will guide the future development of cybersecurity in Germany.
