Meh – was. It’s just catching up to US.
Idk why foreign media always puts the blame on the One Child Policy and they often overlook the bigger issue
More and more Chinese in cities age 25+ are unable to afford a child, let alone two, to begin with, due to rising housing costs and the wages not improving. IMO this is a way, way bigger issue when your economy is fucked from the ground up.
Jhina moving fast forward, Id move for a better future for ALL. Too old and/or not enough $$$
Interesting, looks like china could have lost a lot of younger people to Covid in 2020 or they had a baby boom around 1950, or both
One more thing I noticed is how much Population China and India has like if you look closely at the graph China’s slight rise coincides with the world’s average(1975-1980 & 1985-1990), similarly the recent India’s rise is almost parallel to world average(2015-2020).

If you can add some countries, throw on Germany, South Korea, Japan, Italy, and Spain. These are all countries which have a much higher average age.
I will build a elder care business, big profit
And climate change is coming soon to a neighborhood near you!
In the US, that’s just the boomers retiring, like me. 68, in the middle of the baby boom. But there’s a big bump coming on that chart, because the millennials are actually the largest generation now and I think, proportionally smaller of the total population.
At some point human population has to peak, as we’re killing ourselves and the planet. You know, adding 5.5 billion people in 75 years, not a good idea.
We made the world dirty and unlivable but why won’t people have kids?
Interesting how the US basically stopped aging from 1990 to 2005. Was it due to the exceptionally large immigration wave at the time?
Surely THIS will cause China to collapse /s
Add germany to that chart on pivolx to feel young for a moment.
