INDEPENDENCE, Ohio – Students from Independence Local Schools have had an unforgettable tour of historic sites in Italy and Greece.
The tour was undertaken by 20 students and five adults and gave participants the opportunity to experience history, culture, and cuisine firsthand across two of Europe’s most iconic countries.
A school statement said: “In Italy, the group explored major landmarks including the Vatican, Roman Forum, and Colosseum in Rome, as well as the scenic coastal towns of Sorrento and Bari. A highlight of the trip was a private boat tour to the stunning island of Capri, followed by a guided visit to the ancient ruins of Pompeii.”
“The journey continued with an overnight ferry to Greece, where students toured the historic sites of Delphi and Athens. Highlights included the Delphi Archaeological Museum, the Acropolis, and the Parthenon, offering a deeper understanding of classical civilization and its lasting influence on the modern world.”
The statement added: “In addition to the historical and cultural experiences, students sampled authentic local cuisine and enjoyed shopping in local markets, bringing home unique souvenirs and lasting memories. The tour provided a dynamic and immersive learning experience that brought classroom lessons to life in unforgettable ways.”
