The law, in its majestic equality, forbids rich and poor alike to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal their bread.
We’ve become so accustomed to it that it’s going to be actually legal? Sad times
“Scrapping the Vagrancy Act for good is another step forward in our mission to tackle homelessness in all its forms, by focusing our efforts on its root causes.”
100% homelessness continues to rises in the next few years.
Whatever the government is doing in their mission to tackle homelessness, it’s not working.
It took me far too long to realise this title wasn’t saying it will be decriminalised 200 years from now.
It isn’t really enforced though, so practically speaking will it actually make a difference?
Maybe it should be illegal to make someone homeless…
Oh dear. Expect more tent cities.
In the future most people will be homeless and only few will have an actual house/flat to live in
“Tackling the route causes”. We’re famously not very good at that, so this should be a shit show.
Is this in preparation for closing the migrant hotels?
Can someone explain to me what this achieves? Does it make easier for someone get help or is it just a lazy quick gov do to win some media points but has no meaningful effect?
How we laughed as the masses of 18th century vagrants paraded into our settlements… how we laughed…
Big mistake. Ask California.
Do the Police enforce the law ? No. Like the Police i’ve seen walking past though smoking weed. Utter nonesensce.
Finally, a government that stands up for London’s expanding tent city industry
What the hell is this shit we already have an epidemic here are they insane
Don’t fix the root cause, just adapt legislation. Prime example of a decaying society being driven into the ground by low grade politicians
That’s stupid they should remove all the tents in central because it’s not a good look at all you can’t have people sleeping rough in the middle of your city

Tent Cities! Now coming to a town near you
Of course the Sharon Davies (former one time someone) has branched her bigotry out from trans people to abortion rights and now homeless people https://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/news/plymouth-news/olympian-sharron-davies-suspended-homeless-10279468
