Found your reason for the funding cut right there.
Yes, it’s easy to laugh at these places that voted like Turkeys endorsing Christmas but there is no point in having a 5 year old debate. It is rather more important to see if this government, as it appears, is handing out public money based on party politics.
This kind of scandalous politics practised by Boris and Co has become the norm. So where does that leave us in this country?
Remainers were told repeatedly that ‘this is the will of the people’, well I guess this is the will of the people too, they got what they voted for
Want things to change? Start supporting voting reform in the UK, otherwise history will only repeat itself
They voted for it.
They won.
They need to get over it.
As an outsider knowing the history of the heavy industries and how the people were treated by the government of the day I am completely and utterly baffled as to how the people from those areas voted for the same people who did that to them.
Looking through the comments it’s disturbing how little empathy you have for people who were misinformed and lied to. I live in one of these areas and, whilst my memories of before brexit are undoubtedly cloudy, I watched my mam cry when the results came on the tv. You’ve got to remember that these people have lived in areas which have been deprived since the mines shut down.
Whilst you want to blame how people voted on racism it might’ve been a factor but it wasn’t really what was sold. Brexit was sold as hope for improving their lives. A change of the status quo.
I’m not saying that none of its our fault but before you blame us visit one of our towns or cities and you’ll see why we needed that hope.
Yea voters actions have consequences- deal with it
They’re not idiots, they knew what they were voting for.
Not really “robbed”. It was after all a predictable consequence.
It is “robbed” in the sense that somebody goes out and tracks down a burglar, hands them there house keys and tells them to take what they want from their house and then afterwards moans about the fact that they were “robbed”.
