  6. Woke up, showered, left the house, wasn’t until I was halfway to work that I realised I’d left 20 minutes early. Had a leisurely wander round Asda to keep myself sane as leaving that early means I’d get to work 30 mins early. Now just sat in the office waiting for the day to start.

  7. went for a _really_ long walk yesterday and now i’ve got some massive blisters on one foot from where one of my shoes has holes in it.

  9. Bad start to the day. Had filled my screenwash yesterday and must have used the wrong funnel. It looked completely clean but obviously had oil residue in as my screen was covered in it when id clean it. Had to spray the rest of the contaminated screen wash out, flush it with water and take my car through a thorough car wash all by 7.30

  10. Great start to the day… Slept through my alarm and woke up at 6:44. Was marginally late into work this morning.

    Oh well, onwards and upwards.

  11. I’m not at work today 😀 however, I do have to do 14 hours tomorrow and 8 on Wednesday. It’s forecast to be wet when I’m off Thursday so maybe I’ll have to do some housework. Working Friday Saturday and Sunday, so it will probably be nice and Sunny then! 😞

  12. Productive weekend, good night’s sleep, not feeling crap from my 7am alarm, smashed wordle in about 40 seconds, quiet drive into work.

    It can only go down hill from here on.

  13. Still recovering from the weekend. Had Friends over. I have Crumbs and butter in my Marmite, peanut butter, Raspberry Jam, Lemon and lime Marmalade. I have marmite and peanut butter in my butter. I have peanut butter and marmite in my marmalade and Jam too…..WTF. I even supplied seperate spreading knifes for each…..

    I dont know where the lid for the milk has gone either so operating with some tin foil.

    I cant even think about this week yet.

  14. We’ve got a builder in fixing the front gate and stable door that the council have funded to keep our son safer at home. The gate wouldn’t shut so has actually made it less safe, and they left us with an unpainted raw door, with latches that broke on the first day which we’ve replaced ourselves otherwise he’d be in the kitchen eating out of the bin. I’m not ungrateful but where do I find the time in my role as a 24/7 caregiver to *gloss a fucking door*. The whole process has been hilariously inefficient, with social workers, occupational therapists, contractors and builders all feeding information through each other, badly.

  15. Fucking waaaarm. I work outside. I’m already sweating like a priest in a primary school.

  16. Sitting in my AC’d hotel room in Catalonia until I have to leave. Off to Barcelona for a flight tomorrow. The train is going to be brutal. Its already 30°.

    Still, I did spend most of the last few days in the sea which was like getting into a very refreshing lukewarm bath.

  17. AC unit in our bedroom helped get the temperature down until we could open the window around 10 to get the cooler air from there. That was decent and helped the little one sleep too.

    I came into the office today for the a/c, and going to try and head to the outdoor poor at lunch to cool off.

  18. WFH as I have a shed delivery promised, so waiting for that.
    They said 7am as apparently I was first on the delivery roster when I spoke to them. It’s now 8:40…

    If it arrives, not keen on having to carry the bits through the house in this heat.

  19. The third day of my three day weekend. I need to go to the bank and then I’m off to the gym. Dreading stepping outside and being burnt to a crisp in the sun though

  21. First full week of school holidays here in my part of Scotland, my 10 year old was only off half a week last week and has already cost me a fortune!

  22. Had to take some days off coz HR said I’d lose them. Last day of the long weekend today & got myself a RC car which I’m mildly hyped to try out.

  23. Busy today we are off to Scotland Wednesday to celebrate my mother in laws birthday.Ive got a load of washing on , waiting for my prescription coming by post and trying to keep the dog cool.Looking at the weather in Scotland I’m looking forward to the cooler temperatures being menopausal in this weather is killing me am tempted to lie on the dogs cool mat.

  24. In approximately 4 hours I shall be on the Eurostar whizzing towards 37 degree heat in Paris. Luckily I’m only there for one night before hopping on the TGV towards the south. By Tuesday I shall be sipping wine on my little lodgeboat overlooking the lagoon at Gruissan.

    I am feeling very smug about it all.

  25. It’s hot. We currently have the biggest wildfire in the country just a few miles from our work, and the smoke is so thick that we have to keep the windows at work shut. We have a ridiculous amount of fans running at the moment. They’re just circulating hot air and making noise.

  26. Off work this week. House is too insulated for summer and will likely hit 30° so just trying to move as little as possible 🙈 then off for fancy fish n chips tea for boyf’s birthday!

  27. Attending a conference all week starts 1200 today … praying to the air condition god. And as the poet Amiri Baraka “God has been replaced with air conditioning.”
