Somebody please explain the logic.

  1. They deliver to my recycling bin all the time. Did you select it as a safe place at all? If not just complain on their chat and get them to send out a new item. If you search ‘Customer Service Contact Us’ on the Amazon app it’ll take you to the right place.

  2. You’d end up throwing it away one day anyway, they’re just expediting the process.

  3. I always check inside my wheelie bin jus tin case some little animal or kid is hidding away

  4. I mean it’s stupid but at least them covered it up

For a while I had a driver that just kept leaving stuff on my step, on a terraced street with no front garden or anything, effectively just leaving it on the pavement.

  5. The logic is… it didn’t fit through your letterbox and your bin is weatherproof and out of sight of potential thieves. They should’ve put a note through your door telling you it was in there though 🤔 Where you expecting the parcel? Do you have a safe place? You can arrange delivery times for when you’re definitely going to be in. I don’t think they’re stupid… just under incredible time pressure.

  6. I always appreciate when they put a package into cardboard or plastic bin. Keep an eye on notifications and don’t put your bin out for collection(?)

  7. It’s recycling bin so it’s relatively clean, safe from rain, hidden from view. Parcel should wait safely for pickup when you’re back home.

  8. I’ve never had this, they all seem to use my greenhouse now which is just fine.

  9. Similar thing happened to a friend.
However he found the item before the bin was emptied, but then contacted the Amazon to get a replacement claiming the bin had been emptied.

  10. OP’s bin men come round the back of their house and take the bin away for emptying?

OP’s bin guys are princes among (bin)men

  11. Did you have it presented at the kerb? No council refuse worker is gonna come into your garden to get your recycling.

  12. This happened to me and I got a full refund after phoning

  13. The put it in mine when it was out for bin day 😂😂😂

  14. I gotta sympathise with them tbf, they must get some amount of shit when they don’t make the effort to deliver within the 1 day turnaround. Damned if you do scenario.

  15. I’ve never seen the likes of that before, bloody idiots!

  16. I always try to get things delivered to lockers/collection points now to avoid stuff like this. If you contact Amazon customer service they’ll send out a new item as it’s clear from the associated screenshots that the photo doesn’t match the description of where the parcel was left

As to the logic…delivery drivers are low paid, rushing to meet targets whilst dealing with traffic congestion. They may have simply misread ‘behind’ for ‘in’ or are just young / new to the job and haven’t thought through the potential consequences of putting something in a wheelie bin
