1. Standard Russian strategy. He is not the first nor the last.

2. He was not deceived. He is a mercenary that went there willingly to help Russia invade another country. He is just playing the victim card now.

3. Sub Saharan Africans are among some of the most pro-Putin people out there. For some reason many are easily manipulated by propaganda.

   I remember a Facebook conversation I had with someone from Ghana in 2022. He was absolutely convinced that Russian sanctions on Europe was leading to mass starvation in the West.

   I met (online) many Africans who want to go to fight on behalf of Russia.

4. Amazing how many people when captured have been deceived when they were quite happy to be paid and signed a contract
