  1. Another rogue CIC breaking the law, only charities are allowed to fundraise on the streets

  2. I saw this lot on Richmond high street last week. Looked dodgy to me too, but didn’t have time to stop and look properly.

  3. That looks like it’s been knocked up in 5 mins because their previous sign got seized…

  4. Its interesting they’re basically the same target cause, only without the ‘veterans’ angle.

  5. I didn’t realise they had branched out from Bromley. They’ve been collecting in Bromley for months now and when I contacted the council they told me that they didn’t have permission from the police for street fundraising and would be sending enforcement officers out. They are 100% completely dodgy…

  6. A registered company, not a charity.

Registered in March 2024, based in Gravesend, Kent.

    Sketchy as fuck.

  7. This lot: One officer, James Adams.
    Registered address:
Suite 13, Whitehall Place C/O Future Insight Consultancy Ltd, 47 The Terrace, Gravesend, Kent, England, DA12 2DL
    Company status
    Active
    Company type
Private company limited by guarantee without share capital
    Community Interest Company (CIC)
    Incorporated on
    23 March 2024
    Accounts
First accounts made up to 31 March 2025
    due by 23 December 2025

So no records yet of what they’ve done with any money.

We R Blighty have a different address:
Kent Innovation Centre Kent Innovation Centre, Millennium Way, Broadstairs, Kent, England, CT10 2QQ.
Directors are Benjamin Mills and Danielle Vidier, so different people.
Their accounts are here: companies_house_document.pdf https://share.google/OHOpmRZoYk0xOJoqQ

They have a turnover of £280k and approx zero profit. They claim to be running employment support, work experience programs, referring to support services, and offering immediate accommodation in hotels and B&Bs until other accommodation is found.

If they’re not actually doing that, that would be pretty significant fraud. Has anyone ever tried seeking support from them? Anyone in Kent work with them?

It’s not illegal to be a CIC rather than a charity – for many startups a few years ago it made more sense to remain a CIC, and the Charity Commission can get quite fussy about multiple charities doing the same thing, not to mention long backlogs in registration. It’s also not illegal to use chuggers to raise funds.

  8. Probably the same people, doing the same scam but We R Blighty has become too infamous. Especially after The City of London ruling.

  9. Probably a scam. Only donate to charities directly on their website.

  10. Registered as a CIC rather than as a charity? Dodgy AF…

  11. They are a registered cic but anyone can do that as long as a % of your profits are invested in charitable events but if you make no profits you don’t have to

  12. Any charity begging on the street that only has a CIC number is likely dodgy.

  13. Clearly. they have seen that the scam is working and hasn’t been stopped. More grifters jumping on the bandwagon is only natural.

  14. Define homeless??
Are we talking about our homeless or foreign homeless?

  15. The government needs to address the rise in CIC fundraising we are seeing everywhere.

    We r blighty
    Inside success
    Uplifterz
Attentive management (this one isn’t even a CIC, just a limited company that fundraises like a charity)

    To name a few…

These unregulated CICs are harming the good work actual charities do.

  16. Is that the real dog there? In this heat, I am really concerned about its wellbeing.

  17. Nothing makes me want to get scammed more than seeing the union flag, sign me up!!!

  18. A big ol’ Union Jack because “Charity begins at ‘ome”!!

  19. Is “Veteran’s Association” legit? I saw them outside Waitrose in Temple Fortune this afternoon & the man on the stall was pretty loud when soliciting for donations & DD sign ups. EDIT: I’m unfortunately kinda suspicious of all street charity/CIC collectors after the recent We R Blighty scam reports etc here.
