  17. Iran made satellite TV illegal a few decades ago. I used to think all the people in your round are Islamist extremists until I ran into an Iranian guy who told me about the band on satellite TV. Then he pulled out his phone and showed me a photo of an average rooftop in Tehran: it was extremely colorful, as were all the rooftops all around… because they all had makeshift satellite dishes made out of drink cans practically covering the roofs. That was one of the first lessons I received about the difference between the minority radical government in Iran, and the rest of the country, which is oppressed by and hates their dictators’ wicked ways.
