  1. Yep it’s in appendix B of the rules of the roads handbook

  2. I believe so. And the police cant do anything. Source my friends dad’s girlfriend said so.

  3. That’s the priority button. Whatever you’re doing, this gives you priority over anyone else until you’re finished. Legally the guards can’t touch you. Down the country anyway. Not sure how it works in Dublin.

  4. Yes : there’s a small inflatable child which deploys like an airbag, securing you the right to park in those spots.

And a little blue plate pops up from the dash, to avail of the disabled slots.

  5. Yeah it’s actually an international traffic rule. Wherever in the world you are on traffic, just press that button and leave your vehicle like that. It’s all good.

  6. Yes but you’ll also get the same freedoms if you’ve a BMW or Merc.

  7. Trick question! When you put these on you don’t ‘park’. Think of them as Shrodingers lights. Once they are on, you are neither parked or not parked!

  8. Absolutely and definitely don’t use them when there’s a hazard on the road.

  9. I refer to those as “park anywhere lights” I always get a little chuckle if I see someone who has just abandoned the car but it’s ok. Their park anywhere lights are on.

  10. It means “sorry, back in a minute, sorry, won’t be a sec, thanks” when I press it

  11. Yes, It’s not parking. It’s the hazardous stopping button. lol

  12. Yes. This is the hazard warning light switch, which is to warn others that you’re creating a hazard

  13. Strictly, usage is only allowed when maximum inconvenience and obstruction is caused.

  14. Only in certain car brands. It’s a feature included in the price.

  15. Nope absolutely not.

When these blinking lights are on, you are actually prohibited from parking in what is colloquially known as “parking spaces”.

These blinking lights do however allow you to park within the following areas:

    On double yellow lines.

    At pedestrian crossings.

    On corners.

On the actual road, whether it is beside a car already parked in one of the aforementioned parking spaces or just a random place.

    On footpaths.

Within any area that has road markings (hatched painted lines) that according to the rules of the road mean do not enter.

Anywhere that has “do not park here” signs.

    Bus lanes and bus stops.

Outside of schools (for up to 1 hour while dropping off or collecting children).

    On cycle lanes.

I think there may be more, please feel free to add below if I missed any.

  16. In the case where you plan to turn left in 3km, they also allow you to drive in a bus lane,

  17. As long as you’ve mounted the kerb and are taking up at least half of the pavement

  18. Yes but it needs to be for a really important reason and only 5 minutes max ( I swear)

  19. Yeah 100%!

Source: my cousins husband is in the army, and he said they’re going to be too busy coz they’ve been told to be in the barracks at 8am tomorrow with gear for a week. The order came from HQ and its to make sure people are obeying social distancing

  20. Yep, it’s right next to the rule about how if you turn the roof light on while driving you do life in prison

  21. The amazon lads van must’ve had faulty ones cos he got clamped yesterday…didn’t help he was across 3 handicapped spaces

  22. Technically, no. That button actually makes your car invisible so you get the same effect but you still know, deep down in your heart and soul, that you are being a prick.

  23. Can mean thank you or fuck you, depending on whether the car is moving or stopped.

  24. Absolutely, extra points if up pop up the bonnet whole awaiting repairs.

  25. Yes, but particularly if you’d like to park on double yellow lines.

  26. The only time the flashy orange lights on German cars work.

  27. Should only be used if you are broke down or if you are having a cardio arrest while driving !

  28. /s Isn’t that why it’s called the “park anywhere” button ?

  29. I love to approach a car that’s pulled in an partially obscured on one side and wonder, “are their hazards on because they are parked, or are their indicators on because they are about to pull out…”
