1. **”Should**”?? WTF lame headline is that? Greenhouse gases trap heat according to *physical principles*. Fact that we still don’t know enough about the science is no excuse for a silly headline writer to clutter up the discussion with facetious notions of human moralism

2. I guess “twice as much heat they should” is sloppy journalistic shorthand for “twice as much heat as we expected based on our imperfect understanding of the climate forces we’ve unleashed”.

3. Well as IPCC in the 90’s were considered alarmists they were more or less instructed to show best case as most likely scenario. No one wanted to hear about 6m higher sea levels and large unlivable areas..
