So, I was victim of a legitimate-looking letter from Comdirect once, so, just trynna be on the safe side this time haha.

We got this letter last week and I'd like to know if you folks have been through this interviews/survey already.

It says we're obligated to take part in it since we were selected and that we should share our contact info with the interviewer.

Now,
1. Is this really some sort of law here, i.e., is it mandatory?
2. If it's not a scam, what sort of questions do we need to answer? It lasts an hour, so wth

  3. Mikrozensus is a real thing, so I’d advise you to give the number above a call.

    As for the questions, it could be anything related to your everyday live.

    EDIT: yes, if it’s legit, taking part is mandatory

  5. 1 ) yes, there is mandatory counting of the people. if this letter is real, you have to participate

    2) how many people in your living unit, gender, age, marital status, citizenship, employment status, income, childcare, education

    And according to their webpage you are required to answer “Aus diesem Grund besteht für die meisten Fragen des Mikrozensus eine gesetzlich festgelegte Auskunftspflicht.”

    §13 MZG also exists and seems to say similar things:

    Following that law, you need to answer stuff ”

    1.Angaben zu den Erhebungsmerkmalen nach § 6 Absatz 1 Nummer 2 Buchstabe a und

    2.Angaben zu den Hilfsmerkmalen nach § 11 Absatz 1 Nummer 1, 3, 4 und 5.”

    The other questions mentioned in the same law seem to be voluntary.

    In 1, it says :”Haushalts- und Familienzusammenhang:

    a)Zahl der Haushalte in der Wohnung und Zahl der Personen im Haushalt,”

    Regarding 3, the relevant law says the following:

    (1) Hilfsmerkmale sind:1.Vor- und Familiennamen der Haushaltsmitglieder,2.Kontaktdaten der Haushaltsmitglieder,3.Wohnanschrift,4.Lage der Wohnung im Gebäude,5.Vor- und Familienname des Wohnungsinhabers oder der Wohnungsinhaberin,[6.Name](http://6.Name) und Anschrift der Arbeitsstätten der Haushaltsmitglieder,7.Baualtersgruppe des Gebäudes.

    So you need to tell them how many people and how many families live in your apartment, what their names are, where you live, where the apartment is in the house, and who is the person owning or renting the apartment.

    Anything else is voluntary unless i am mistaken.

  7. Legitimate! This is the official Mikrozensus 2025 conducted by Bayerisches Landesamt für Statistik.
    Participation is mandatory under §15 Bundesstatistikgesetz and §13 Mikrozensusgesetz

    Failure to participate can theoretically result in Bußgeld up to €5K ;-), although such fines are rarely enforced

  9. Für mich schreit dieses schreiben nach Scan aber wenn die Mehrheit sagt ist legit 🤷‍♂️

    I mean wenn die das an alle in einem Mehrfamilienhaus schicken und einige Wohnungen unbelegt sind woher wollen die wissen wer nicht drauf reagiert oder wo eine Wohnung mehr steht. Woher wollen die wissen ob es überhaupt zugestellt wurde wenn es nicht persönlich adressiert ist? Alles irgendwie undurchdacht in meinen Augen. Oder ich verstehe es nicht wegen einem überhitzten Kopf vom Wetter…

  11. This seems legit, I have had this happen to me as well about 2 years ago. But you do not have to be at your phone from 0900 to 1900. Do yourself a favor. Verify the phone number and call them beforehand. Tell them at what time it would be best to call and then be there. It’s a short questionnaire and yes you are required to participate. If it’s legit .. like I said, verify the number. If you have trouble speaking German and they do not understand what you are saying then have a friend on the phone with you who can explain ur situation
