New findings add to mounting evidence of global insect population decline, with some regions reporting drops exceeding 75% in recent decades. Chlorothalonil, one of world’s most extensively used fungicides, severely impacts insect reproduction and survival, even at lowest levels detected on food.

  1. As always, by the time anyone can be fucked to do anything about it it will be too late.

  2. I can only imagine what Trump’s wise words would be on this grave matter.

  3. I’ve been noticing the decline for years, but this summer seems to be extreme. I haven’t even seen a June bug, and we had swarms of them even a couple years ago. We had a light on outside for hours last night and there weren’t any bugs swarming around it. I only saw lightening bugs up high in the trees away from peoples yards, where they used to swarm everywhere. It was eerily quiet. We’ve had plenty of rain but hardly any frogs. There’s just no pretending anymore

  4. I saw a firefly last night

    one

    first time in….several years.
