The Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 offshore wind park in Poland, developed by the Norwegian energy group Equinor and Poland’s Polenergia, have entered the construction phase, with onshore infrastructure works now underway. Offshore activities, including monopile installation, are planned for the first half of 2026.

The first electricity from these two wind parks, with a combined capacity of 1.44 GW, is expected in 2027, with full commercial operation scheduled for 2028. In May 2025, Equinor and Polenergia announced the financial close for both projects, located within Poland’s Exclusive Economic Zone in the Baltic Sea. Equinor and Polenergia have also prepared Bałtyk 1, a wind park with a capacity of up to 1.56 GW, to participate in the offshore wind auction scheduled for December 2025.

In its updated NECP, Poland targets up to 5.9 GW of offshore wind in 2030 and up to 18 GW of offshore wind in 2040. In 2022, Poland launched a new offshore wind auction scheme covering 11 areas in the Polish Baltic Sea, representing a total capacity over 10 GW.
