  1. When my local school board had a by-election recently, I reached out to the candidates and asked them what they would do to address climate change. Would they electrify the school bus fleet? Would they ask career counsellors to encourage students to pursue environmental degrees and careers? Would they have teachers incorporate more climate science into the classroom? Reaching out actually led to some good conversations (apparently I was the only person to email one of them). I hadn’t participated in prior school board elections, but with every election being a climate election…

  2. What’s concerning is that this is Canada and not the US… and I’m seeing similar trends in France too…
The problem is climate change is viewed as a political issue to be avoided, rather than a scientific phenomenon that can be objectively taught.

  3. They need to teach climate change to avoid becoming the 51st state

  4. … WHY?! When I was in school it was talked about WITH EVERYONE. It was constantly taught and demonstrated, SO WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?

  5. Canada is a big oil and mining country.
Mining, manufacturing and oil are all big industries there. Climate change doesn’t jive well with those industries. Those industries are behemoths and will continue to try to hide and distract the public from the truth. Just so they don’t lose revenues or keep increasing revenues.
