Blackstone has bolstered its senior management team in Japan, hiring an industry veteran as vice chair.
Muneya Taniguchi will also serve as executive adviser, leading the firm’s expansion, with a focus on western Japan, the $1.2tn alternatives house said in a 1 July statement.
Taniguchi was previously MUFG Bank deputy president and also had a spell as deputy chairman of Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities.
