Given that many of them don’t seem to speak English, how much of the show would they even understand?
I’ve posted about this here before, but years ago I had a Ukrainian couple staying with me for a few days and they were huge Father Ted fans. Turns out a lot of English language TV shows get dubbed in Russian and then pirated in Ukraine. They were showing me clips of Russian Father Ted, the voice acting seemed pretty good and the humour obviously translated because according to them it’s hugely popular over there (and in Russia).
