As BelTA reminds, Aleksandr Lukashenko announced the upcoming personnel changes within the National Academy of Sciences at his recent meeting with the leadership of the President Administration. The Head of State then made it clear that the appointment of Vladimir Karanik as Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences on May 22nd was not the only personnel decision, and others would follow. “(It is necessary to hold a thematic meeting) due to the changes that have taken place and will take place in the leadership of the Academy of Sciences. The would-be changes are another topic that concerns not only me, but you first of all,” he said.
The President also announced his plans to hold a meeting on the NAS activity and a congress of scientists in the near future. “Science must be taken seriously. This area is practically excluded in the President Administration, and I do not see it in the work on organising the process of scientific activity, especially obtaining results,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
