War in Ukraine Has Left Eastern Europe Sleepless

  1. It definitely had a very negative impact on me personally. Especially the first few days I didn’t sleep at all. Even now the war is taking a lot of energy away from me and negatively affecting my everyday life. I have no idea if this is going to last until the war ends or I will eventually be able to focus more on other aspects of my life.

  2.  “Wake up, check on Zelensky, coffee: This has been my morning routine,”

Litterally my every morning since 24th of February.

Every discution inevitable gravitates to war. We may start playing board games with friends and 15 minute later we are talking about Mariupol ect . Seriously, it is Easter now and half of the conversations are about Ukraine.

On top of that, we feel guilty for not doing enough to help. We have been collecting clothes and giving them to refugees, we support them finantially, we took Ukrainian childeren for cool trips outside of Warsaw and we also collected medicaments and gear for Ukrainian soldiers. I have a small baby so I cannot do it but my fiance does volunteer on the train station. Yet , we cannot host refugees. We feel guilty as others do much more. I have coleagues who was driving to the border evefy weekend to pick up refugges or even driving to Ukraine with aid.

    This feeling is terrible.
