Turkey: Daring rescues, evacuations as wildfires rage • FRANCE 24 English
Wildfires have been raging across Western Turkey this week driven by high temperatures and winds of up to 120kmh. More than 50,000 people have has to be evacuated from the country’s Izmir Province, while emergency workers made a daring rescue of an elderly wheelchair user moments before his home was engulfed in flames.
