Thailand starts banning the sale of cannabis without a prescription

1. I love pot, but yeah, it fucks with your brain. I’m happy I didn’t start smoking it until I was around 30, and had already been in my career for a few years. If I started in my teens / early 20s, I’m pretty sure my quality of life would have been worse off. But that’s just me.

2. Was just there for a couple months smoking daily no problem. Unfortunate decision as most of the shop owners are pretty nice and have their own grow operation. From what it sounds like, they are fucked. It’s understandable as Thai people in general don’t like it and especially don’t like obnoxious foreigners smoking in public

3. Didn’t they only legalize it a few years ago? I remember travelling in Thailand like 4-ish years ago and hearing it had just been legalized, you had shops selling cannabis and weed brownies everywhere

4. Literally flew back from Phuket on Saturday. It’ll take a while to enforce since there’s literally thousands of dispensaries. I had no issues buying product before I left.

5. It’s a banner day for doctors who finished last in their class and will write dodgy scripts for a fee.

   But I imagine a big factor in this is the already unruly tourists, who get absolutely blottoed on alcohol in Thailand anyway, compunding that with weed. Thailand is such a lovely country and they get the worst tourists in SE Asia.
