Flat hunting

  1. I mean isn’t this a legit question as lots of rental properties don’t have them

  2. I’ve rented plenty of times in London without a living room. I think it’s pretty normal here in house shares!

  3. Very normal. My first flatshare in London didn’t have a living room, allowed for another bedroom which saved us all a few hundred quid.

  4. “Is sleeping horizontally particularly important to you?”

  5. This is not even a question, we all assume we don’t get one

  6. Question is valid, but probably the more usual phrasing is “how many beds you’re looking for?” – a 1 bed has a living room, a studio (0 bed) has not

  7. Not worded great but if it’s a general question on the type of property you’d be looking for, yeah that’s normal for London. I lived in a 2 bedroom by myself for several years before downsizing to a HMO box room because I realised I was literally coming home each day, using the bathroom and kitchen and going straight to my bedroom, and spending all that extra money for no reason.

  8. Perfectly reasonable question for London flat rentals. Extra room is gonna cost more 🤷‍♂️ decent sized kitchen and bigger bedrooms is preferable to me in a shared place than a lounge.

  9. Man this isnt even an unreasonable question outside of London these days

    Awful state of affairs

Pro-tip. If theres no living room make sure theres a park and/or pub/gym very close by

  10. “Oh yes we find a lot of people are really happy with a flushing shower! Just takes a little longer. Make sure you only do one leg at a time. Oh, and that’s not a back scrubber”
