Communists urge Finland and Sweden to maintain neutrality instead of joining NATO

  1. > The Communist Party of Finland (SKP) and the Communist Party of Sweden (SKP), raised concerns over their governments’ intent to join the NATO war alliance.

For reference, SKP (the Swedish one) got 702 votes last election.

  2. Because Communists support Russia, the Russian war machine and atrocities committed in Ukraine. Wouldn’t be the first time Communists committed genocide in Ukraine, either.

  3. I’m sure both parties can voice their grievances in the next session of parliament. Oh wait.

  4. *SKP is against the Russian war in Ukraine but we also see Russia as a neighbor and not an enemy,”*

The One Million Euro question is of course: “”Is that view shared by Russia? And if yes: for how long? And under what circumstances? And what does Russia want for this view?”.

  5. To give an idea of the political relevance of the Finnish Communist party, it was struck from the Finnish register of political parties in 2019 after failing to secure a single seat in the parliament in two consecutive elections. (To get re-registered, they have to collect 5000 supporter’s signatures).
What makes this funny is that it was the *third* time they were struck off.

It’s a fringe party with largely geriatric members and doesn’t even win any seats in the municipal elections.

  6. Finland is NOT neutral. We have joined EU in the 90s and have participated in numerous military ventures and exercises with NATO and western EU countries.

Finland being neutral is Russian psyop.
