I’d love to see this adjusted for population that exists within each of those categories, and I’d suggest the differential within the top 20% to be substantial enough to warrant further breakdown

The bottom 20% broke pretty hard for Trump and Republicans generally. That was *obvioualy* not going to work out for them financially but I really don’t think they care, not even when it hurts them. Why? Probably racism. Racism in America is very often at the root of why we can’t have nice things.
But also, we’re up against an oligarch class that now holds every lever of power. Reagan kicked off this party and it’s not going to stop until there is [redacted for the reddit schoolmarms] in America. However, I’m not holding my breath, there are more methods to control people than there have ever been. Soft methods of control that people don’t even know about.
Bottom line is this chart clearly indicates republicans know precisely who their bosses are.
As someone who has had the dumb luck to be a high income, individual and benefit from these tax breaks, I worked hard to convince many of my poorer red State neighbors to vote for Kamala. I said that while my taxes would probably go up due to the expiration of the 2017 Trump tax cuts, I was fine with that because so many more, including them would benefit.
They made their choice, however, so I’m going to enjoy my tax cuts while I enjoy watching them bitch and moan as their lives get harder.
Just what we voted for, the poor get poorer and the rich get slightly and almost negligibly richer lol
We’re actually destroying the social safety net and exploding the deficit so billionaires and multimillionaires can save $6000 a year. That’s a Friday night for them.

These charts need to include the earnings ranges for those percentages. I understand that the top 20% are millionaires, but to the people that need to digest it they need it explained like they are five for it to sink in.
Worth noting, that top 20% is anyone making over $130K as an individual, if it’s by household it’s $160k. It gets much more interesting when you break that top 20% down further. As we all know, “AVERAGE” can get distorted by extremes.

I don’t understand how anybody is getting increases in income. Doesn’t this bill just preserve existing tax cuts for the most part? There are also increases to child tax credit but that’s income blind, standard deductions (also income blind), car interest (extremely limited), and SALT (also extremely limited especially given the standard deduction).

When you outnumber the top 20% by a multitude, but you cant help yourself because someday you to will be in the top 1%
As someone in the bottom 20%, I might commit tax fraud, or move to Canada.
This totally screws the next generation of workers. Or forces you to find a way to get rich or completely suffer.
I remember during the 08 crash when people lost their homes and experienced huge financial losses what happened. People killed their families, they heavily destroyed the homes they lost ( I looked at homes to purchase during that time and did not feel right seeing place after place with holes in the walls and seeing children’s toys on the floor) and other tremendous things. People lost their abilities to care for their families and that will break society down. Before some of you come at me with disbelief I brought the receipts in the links.
