An iced coffee is just the ticket on a sunny day, cooling you down and serving as a little morning, afternoon or lunchtime treat to help you concentrate when you get back to work.

But there is an art to the iced coffee. Too sweet and filled with ice cream and it’s really a coffee sundae. Weak and watery with ice cubes floating around, and that’s something you can make at home with percolator coffee.

We’ve scoured Luxembourg to bring you what we consider to be the best iced coffee creations, including frappe and latte Boba-style. If we’ve missed a place that you think deserves to be on this list, let us know and we’ll add it.

Do for Love

51 Boulevard Royal
It’s not just the central location, lovely terrace or exposed concrete interior filled with colourful cushions, it’s the coffee ice cream combos (yes I know I said they didn’t count, but they do here). Iced flat white, matcha, mocha or chai, and a selection of frappe await you. They can create all sorts of other specialities too.

They have just opened a second place at Cloche d’Or.

Lloyd Coffee Eatery

10a Rue Aldringen
Brunch seven days a week and a staggering selection of sweet and savoury pancakes are big enough reasons to visit this modern and central cafe (a Belgian brand now in Luxembourg). It features comfy seats, wooden tables and the odd sofa, plus a kids’ corner and bookshelves of reading material.

Tuck into iced latte – with blueberry, matcha and chai options – or an Americano if you’re splurging on the caramel or tiramisu pancakes.

Casa del Caffe

11 Avenue de la Porte-Neuve
If only iced coffee will do and all that matcha latte sounds too healthy, then at the same location 11 Avenue de la Porte-Neuve you can grab a café glacé Italien. The picture below will have you drooling. There’s some outside seating for a bit of people watching – or should I say watching people jealously look at your café glacé.

Coffee Fellows

20 Rue de Curé, 4 Place de Paris, 44 Avenue J-F Kennedy
Iced cappuccino on the rocks if you like it simple, iced macchiato with salted caramel for something special and iced coffee that combines an espresso with vanilla ice cream. If you want to go all out, try the cookie choc frappiato that sees your coffee embellished with double chocolate cookie, dark chocolate sauce and cream. Diet, what diet? You can order for delivery on Wolt too.

Ready?!

35 Avenue du Bois
Pistachio iced latte, anyone? This beautifully presented creation (admire the layers) can be supped in a lovely modern location, which gets busy quickly so head out early for your iced coffee. Other cold coffee creations are available, but pick your timing otherwise you might get overheated with the wait.

Lux Boba

Ground floor, Belval Plaza shopping centre
The creation of former owner-partner of T Zone Boba, this is the place to go for something totally different when it comes to iced coffee or tea. Check out the iced Crème Brulee Matcha brown sugar latte, or the Butterfly green tea latte (pictured below and like a work of art). Although technically teas, and with those tapioca balls, they are a “matcha” for an iced coffee any day. Just for the sheer art, try their butterfly pea and jasmine green tea, also in an iced version.

Bravo Café

Avenue Monterey
This little coffee cart is the perfect place to get an iced coffee to go. Try iced latte, cappuccino, flat white or chocolate, or even an iced orange coffee, and pair it with a chocolate brownie. Reviewers say the iced “matcha” tea has a soft, velvety flavour. Once you’ve got your cold coffee, head to the park to enjoy it.
