Abandoned lime bikes probably due to both lifts being out of service.
Does anyone know which Good Samaritan clears this and why is the tunnel wet? I regularly use the Greenwich football tunnel and it’s never been this wet before (ever) in my experience?
Also I’ve never seen 14 bikes ditched there, surely something’s gotta be done about this

Must be something in the air today as I saw loads of them on their side above ground too.
Seems a bit narrow for football
Someone call pest check.
Kids who ride around on them for free.
Hopefully Lime bikes get fined by councils out of oblivion. They’re a nuisance!
[First Tuesday of the month is wet cleaning day](https://www.royalgreenwich.gov.uk/parking-transport-and-streets/travel-foot-bike-or-public-transport/check-status-foot-tunnels-and) – that’s why it’s a bit soggy.
Council / Lime will remove the bikes once either of the lifts is fixed. But they both need maintenance which has been delayed so they’re just down even more than usual.
just make a horror film about them
What I will never understand is why people just leave them right where they stop. No one, and I repeat NO ONE ever thinks to park them on the side. The number of times I see them parked right bang in the middle of a pavement…what are people like? Drives me nuts!
The fact that the best way to cross the river in that area on a bike is to carry it down a flight of stairs, push it, then carry it up a flight of stairs, all taking about 10-15 minutes compared to about 1-2 minutes if there was a bridge.
Its shameful and this is just a symptom of the problem. I’d never abandon a bike somewhere obstructive but also:
• People could have left the bikes on the edge of the path after realising the other lift was out only for them to be pulled over by some idiot
• These could have been stolen bikes so the person has zero vested interest in returning them properly
Some twats were vandalising one at Abbey Wood station last night. Obviously broken the lock, as clicking and beeping but then he went on to bashing the battery against concrete street furniture as hard as his little stick legs could kick it. Couldn’t work out the purpose (other than just breaking it for the sake of it)?
Either way he wasn’t very successful in the 10 minutes or so I watched…
There’s a QR code on the back of a few of the bikes now that directs to their contact email address – london-ops@li.me
I’ve emailed them a few times now and they’ve been fairly responsive
Shhh! They”re sleeping
Greenwich footwhat now?
Normally when a convenient technology comes, there are major downsides but ultimately easily patched. I don’t see how there’s an easy way to satisfy the demand for these services, but get over the fact that people are absolute savages who cannot be trusted to use them in a way that is considerate.
You can’t just ban them as accessible cycling is obviously a good thing and the mouse is out of the house now, but we cannot go on like this. There’s a new parking station on my street and now I have to push the buggie into the road to get to the corner shop as people just leave bikes thrown all over the pavement. It’s a bloody nightmare. I dread think what it is like for people who use a wheelchair.
You wait to see what it looks like on matchday
I guess it might be wet due to the high temps – condensation on the cold tunnel walls?
Lime bike graveyard
This happens with high amounts of moisture and poor ventilation; you get infestations of lime bikes.
They clean the tunnel every month or so you might’ve come just after they finished. Not sure the cleaners care about the bikes so hoses might’ve pushed them over
Says a lot about what is wrong with our society.
Eurgh a Lime bike nest
My Thames tunnel senses thinks this is Woolwich. Greenwich is wider
Standard.
I don’t know why Google maps continues to show the foot tunnel as a viable route for a lime bike journey; they need to remove it and lime need to be forced to not allow the bikes to work in the tunnel. Although this may be difficult with the lack of signal in the tunnel.
Everybody hurts sometimes
feral people in 2025 … Britain is just a victim of its “acceptance” …
