Thanks for sharing our story OP! Here’s a quick summary for anyone interested:
The Trump EPA told us that it’s “committed to addressing PFAS in drinking water and ensuring that regulations issued under the Safe Drinking Water Act follow the law, follow the science, and can be implemented by water systems to strengthen public health protections.”
But the agency also said it will rescind and reconsider drinking water limits on four of the pollutants and will delay enforcement of standards for two of the others until 2031.
What’s more, the EPA has terminated over $15 million in funding for researching “forever chemicals.” Scientists and advocates have said it’s unclear what it means for the EPA to “follow the science” for regulating PFAS while the agency is diminishing its own ability to conduct research.
