  1. So the article speaks of foreign-born ór foreign ‘roots’, at some point talking about ‘familial origin’ and later talking about ‘links’. The top countries mentioned being Turkey, Poland, and Russia.

I’m guessing anyone who’s got Polish family somewhere down the line has been grouped into these statistics.

  2. Funny how the West is supposedly the most racist place on earth yet never in a million years would China or Japan allow even one fifth of their population to have a non-Asian background

  3. I’m less interested in this than I am in the percentage that are either foreign born or have two foreign born parents, I find the ‘one foreign born parent’ definition less meaningful from a demographic position, it’s fine but, I believe, socially and culturally less significant.

  4. Soon ,when the last of baby boom gens die, this percantage will become 1/3.

Only an increased birth rate from a determined young ethnic German population may solve this issue but it is easier said than done.

  5. And if you don’t like it, you’re a horrible racist who needs to shut up and learn to be more tolerant?

  6. dope! 37% in Berlin but we’re not even close to the Top with that, there are 20-25 big Cities with over 100k People which have over 40%.

  7. Many people over here have foreign backgrounds as well. That could be either Croatian, Bosnian, Serbian or even Albanian. But then there is me, whose ancestors didn’t even leave my home region:/
