  5. This is probably the right verdict based on the accounts that we’ve heard. This is one of a series of criminal sex cases of celebrities where everyone clutches their pearls because non-traditional sex is so taboo. Having wild orgies is legal. Most of the stuff R Kelly gets denigrated for is also legal. The public reacts to bisexual threesomes and pissing in people’s mouths but that’s all fine.

    Underage sex, prostitution, non-consensual sex, and drugs are all illegal, and obviously those had roles in these cases. However most of the salacious stuff that has been written in the press is totally legal, and quite frankly it’s fucked up to build a giant case and months of testimony to describe stuff that is legal but you think will get a rise out of people.

  21. Maximum penalty for each of the 2 guilty verdicts is 10 years. Prosecution has asked for the max not surprisingly. Still means he’s likely to get maybe 5 years in prison overall. Of course the possibility of a Trump pardon remains. Still a massive downfall and the details of his perverted lifestyle will follow him forever….

  38. These threads always remind me of how unaware most people are as to how our legal system functions. I’ve known a number of people with zero dollars that have done all kinds of stupid shit, got arrested, got a light sentence and got their record expunged after completing classes/probation/community service. Stuff that people would be saying “only for the rich” if they saw what they were convicted of and then saw their record.
