Ekorosk will be distributing energy waste bins to households in the spring time. Ostrobothnia waste committee has decided, that Ekorosk will organize the emptying, and transportation of energy waste for all private households beginning 19.7.2025. Ekorosk does not collect additional fees for the bins.

1. Ekorosk will distribute new energy waste bins to households during the spring, if you already have a waste bin that is owned by a waste management company. Please contact the waste management company, if you do not know how owns the old bin, or want to know when it will be removed.
2. Contracts for emptying the energy waste bins will automatically discontinue on 18.7.2025. You do not need to do anything.
3. The new energy waste bin is taken into use on 19.7.2025
Ekorosk will organize the emptying of energy waste bins starting 19.7.2025 also in those households which own their waste bins. All households can order a new waste bin from Ekorosk, e.g. in the case of the old one getting broken.
All questions about emptying the bio and energy waste bins can be addressed to Ekorosk starting from 19.7.2025. Plese note, that according to the municipalities waste ordinance, the bins must be located so that the waste truck can get closer than 10 meters from them.

Andin general, the unsorted mixed waste bins are usually the most expensive to empty, so there’s an incentive to sort recycleable waste, biowaste or burnable waste if you have the bins for that.

So basically about two months ago Ekorosk bought waaay too many bins for some reason.
I actually saw their bin stockpile about a month ago, don’t remember how many there were exactly, but it was a lot.
