Casino sales in June at Grand Korea Leisure Co Ltd (GKL), an operator in South Korea of foreigner-only casinos, stood at nearly KRW34.81 billion (US$25.6 million), according to a Thursday update filed to the Korea Exchange.

The June tally was down 6.0 percent from a year earlier, but up 13.6 percent from May.

Table-game sales last month were just under KRW31.60 billion, a decline of 7.7 percent year-on-year, but a 16.6-percent increase sequentially.

Machine-game sales in June were KRW3.21 billion, an increase of 15.3 percent from a year ago, but down 9.0 percent from May.

Grand Korea Leisure runs three foreigner-only, Seven Luck-branded, casinos. Two are in the capital Seoul, including one at Gangnam. Its third is in the southeastern port city of Busan.

The company is a subsidiary of the Korea Tourism Organization, which in turn is affiliated to the country’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

In the first half of 2025, Grand Korea Leisure’s aggregate casino sales were up 9.0 percent year-on-year, to just above KRW209.86 billion.

In the six-month period, the firm’s “drop” – the amount paid by customers to purchase gaming chips – declined by 6.2 percent year-on-year to about KRW1.74 trillion.

Grand Korea Leisure posted a first-quarter net profit of nearly KRW16.11 billion, up 57.9 percent from a year earlier.
