What happens now Johnson and Sunak have been fined

  1. we’ll be outraged, then something else will be the main issue of news, then we’ll vote conservative at the next general election because the daily mail, daily express and the sun told us how everyone else would be a disaster for britain, then a few months after that we’ll all moan about ”the bloody tories” and how they only exist to fleece everyone for the good of themselves and their tory mates.

  2. It’s quite likely that Boris will receive more fines. What about this Sue Gray report that was only ever partly released? After Boris has received all his fines, with little detail of whether his infringement was technical and they are just being strict, or otherwise grossly violated the rules – we need the full report into what did actually occur.
Was it a systematic policy of ignoring lockdown, including Boris himself? Or was Boris just on the fringes, appearing here and there in a way which was technically a violation?

  3. What should happen: They resign, immediately.

What will happen: Absolutely sweet F.A. Maybe Ian Blackford getting thrown out the Commons again for calling a spade a spade.

  4. Absolutely nothing whatsoever. We’ve become a country of doormats willing to be fed all the shit given to us with thank you’s.

  5. Well nothing since fuck you plebs. BBC downgraded the story progressively though the day and now it’ll be ignored.

  6. No need to read the article – the answer is nothing. Protected by their media chums and a flawed democratic system they are free to do as they please.

  7. What happens? They announced deportations to Rwanda. That should keep newspapers busy speaking of something else than lockdown parties.

  8. For most politicians, £50 is pretty much loose change, the equivalent of a penny or two for the rest of us. It’s easy for them to get sympathy for the No. 10 parties, as they were with work colleagues they’d been in close proximity to throughout the day. Added onto which, it turned out that a weekly after work Booze-up in the No. 10 garden was a standard perk, and they didn’t even think about whether it was contrary to their own legislation. What would be more interesting is if any of the parties were open to those working elsewhere in the Whitehall estate. There’s also the evening leaving do in the basement of No. 10, which was clearly neither a work event nor outside.
