  1. No no no, it’s because the tunnels don’t fit around the trains. Completely different problem.

  2. I mean we would find out pretty quickly if this was the case, they ain’t changing the tunnel and a remodel of the train wouldn’t delay but severely postpone the whole project, something that would not stay a secret. Just bureaucracy and money grabbing probably.

  3. No no They fit but, they just scrape the walls abit

  4. The Standard making up rubbish again, if they had perhaps FOI’d, they’d realise these 2024 Stock has never entered the tunnels and the fault was identified on surface level.

  5. Asked if the train “doesn’t fit in the tunnels”, Mr Lord said: “No, that is not the case.”

  6. If they didn’t fit in the tunnels that would definitely be big news

  7. ‘Steve, did you check that these things actually fit in the tunnels?’

    ‘What? Nah. Someone must’ve though?’

    ‘Yeah, must’ve’

    ‘Yeahh’

  8. They fit in the tunnels, obviously. It’s the platforms that sometimes need adjusting. It’s tricky because they’ll be running two kinds of train and these ones bend in different places to the old ones.

  9. whatever the reason for the delay, whether it’s not fitting in tunnels or drivers not being able to see out the front window or electrical gubbins being in completely the wrong place… This means enduring another winter of the current Piccadilly line trains with their wheels made of soggy digestive biscuits getting flatspotted on leaves out west. I really hope none of you need to get to Ruislip any time after the summer ends.

  10. It’s been denied because it’s bullshit…

Unless I’m mistaken, there hasn’t been a single rolling stock replacement program in this country that’s had it’s first train enter service on time in the last 15 years… Still I’m sure some will blame TfL and Sadiq personally.
