Happy Easter all. In previous years (pre-COVID) I had the joy of being woken up at 6am on Easter Sunday/Monday by the rattles and chanting of “Klibberen” (you have to have experienced it to know what I’m talking about, but this article explains – [https://www.luxtimes.lu/en/luxembourg-guide/klibberen-and-emaischen-explained](https://www.luxtimes.lu/en/luxembourg-guide/klibberen-and-emaischen-explained-602d6f29de135b9236b98d36))
The last 2 years they stopped doing it (presumably due to COVID) but I had a feeling of dread that it might come back this year. Thankfully, at least where I live, it did not and I was able to enjoy a weekend of blissful lie-ins. I was wondering whether anyone else experienced it this year?
Note – I have nothing against local traditions or the celebration of Easter, only the “rude awakening at 6am” part!

I’m the opposite: I didn’t hear or see any Klibberen and I’m really disappointed.

The local tradition involves the noise and the chanting…so yeah, you are against local traditions.
I fucking hate this stupid tradition and would like to know why the church has the right to send kids to disturb neighborhoods at 6 am in the morning.
Everybody can follow whatever religion he wants, do your thing, that’s fine by me. I leave them in peace, so why do they feel like it’s alright to come to my home and disturb me in the name of god, just fuck off.
I was born and raised in Luxembourg and I know ‘Klibberen’ only from stories. I thought it was a long dead tradition. Any ppl from the South can confirm that ‘Klibberen’ doesn’t exist anymore here or am I just that unaware of my surroundings?
They came around 9am, was nice.
Happened on Friday and Saturday, 7am. But the kids were adorable so we woke up in a good mood after all…
Ps: if the “rude awakening” is a quote from abroad in Japan, you made my day
