  1. We def. know who that one guy is from South Africa.

  2. does the dot size represent their net worth? or does it represent more than one person being born in that place

  3. Woohoo! Perth represent! ( oh wait, probably not something to be proud of ).

  4. Crazy. Sweden has the highest billion-dollar companies per capita, but no richest person born there. That’s a plus.

  5. If you told people 50 years ago that the world’s richest person is about to be born in Africa, you would’ve been labeled a crazy person.

Also, who is the one from the other African country?

  6. So basically, if you’re not born near water, you’re kind of fucked….

  7. Would be cool if you added another dimension for size of wealth

  8. Would be cool to see a “where they live now” comparison.

  9. Who is the dot south of Detroit? Somewhere around Cinci/Columbus/Louisville?

  10. I’m assuming the one dot between Detroit and DC is Pittsburgh, which would be Mark Cuban perhaps??

  11. Chances of an ultra-rich person being born in Mexico are Slim

  12. You have two for Australia, one is Gina Rinehart (*shudder*) occupying 63rd spot but who is the other one?
Going by your own data the next Australian on the list is Harry Triguboff at 108th spot, so he shouldn’t make the list, even if he was in the top 100 he wasn’t born in Australia, he was born in China.

  13. South America, Africa, Australia each of them have two people in the list.

  14. The richest people on earth are unknown. They’re the oil tycoons in the Middle East that pump out liquid gold. I guarantee this graphic was made using publicly available information.
