And yet people continue to believe civilisation will survive climate change. There’s an enormous lag in the planet’s climate system – what you’re seeing now is the result of emissions from 10 years ago – by the time things get so bad that people stop arguing about it, it will be too late to do anything about it.

sometimes it feels like we’re happily walking blindfolded towards a cliff edge… except I guess it won’t be a sudden marked decline, we’ll just see a rise of extreme climate events, record heatwaves and drops in biodiversity… much like we’re seeing now I guess…
