Meteorologists have issued an orange heatwave alert for the 7th and 8th of July, when temperatures are expected to reach 38 degrees Celsius. Specialists from the State Hydrometeorological Service explained to IPN that a wave of tropical air is causing the heatwave these days, IPN reports.
It will be extremely hot over the weekend, warn the meteorologists. A yellow warning has been issued for Saturday, with maximum temperatures between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius. The orange warning, forecasted for Monday and Tuesday, covers the entire territory of the Republic of Moldova. Temperatures will vary between 36 and 38 degrees.
People are urged to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, especially during peak hours, to hydrate properly, to use sun protection factor creams, and to opt for clothing made of natural fabrics and light in color.
