What’s he threatening to sue for? He admitted he’s broke the law himself even. Does the dog have PTSD? Or did he not get to read the Irish times until it was too late?
He was in the US army and was a NY cop but is stressed out by having his gaff searched?
What a clown, He knows he broke the law
He is upset that the Garda enter his home with an active warrant to find an illegal firearm when he wasn’t there and thinks they should have waited for him to return? And seems to have given the Garda abuse for doing their job.
Very odd story. Why raid his house? Why now? Why so many?
Why does he buy his paper in the north? surely there is a shop in Swanlinbar?
“The Smith and Wesson five shot revolver was purchased in Lower Manhattan for $75 in 1968. Before returning to retire in Ireland in 1996, he had it decommissioned across the Hudson River in Jersey.”
So it wasn’t even functioning? Bit of an overreaction to send ten armed gards to confiscate an 88-year-old man’s non-functioning revolver hahahaha.
Meanwhile when I had someone break into my house less than 2 mins walk from a garda station, it still took them 35 minutes to show up…
Some of you lot in the comments need to give your head a real wobble. Total overreaction by AGS.
Typical Yank. My Rights. Wrong Country 🤷🏻
If he was in NY, had an illegal firearm, and showed up fucking and blinding at the cops, he’d be pepper sprayed, bundled into the back of the car, got the shit kicked out of him, and might even see the other side of the door at Rikers for a little while.
The IT should have more cop on than give this lad an airing.
On a side note, I can’t imagine living in the US and then having to move back to Cavan.
A fate worse than death if you ask me.
Army, police, prison guard. Ticking all the cunty boxes
Fucking Yankees and their penis extenders.
Yea i see his point.
Jesus, that was overkill. I feel sorry for the man
He did break the law but the Gardai’s reaction was overkill, like shouldn’t they be doing something about all the gang violence instead.
“I’d shoot you if I had my gun”
It was clearly the dogs gun. Which one I don’t know.. but they both look like they are hiding somethin. Probably a bag of crisps.
From reading the article, the gun was decommissioned and over 50 years old. I think I’d be fairly put off if 10 armed guards had broken into my home (legally or otherwise) to get their hands on it.
Wonder if this is that chap who posted here a few months ago about wanting to move to Cavan to build a lakefront mansion. Whenever somebody tried to explain that he couldn’t just do that without planning permission, citizenship he just said he had money so should be grand. Then he started spouting off about bringing his guns over. He also started aggressively dming people.
I love when entitled Americans get knocked down a peg.

Yeah… but the weapon wasn’t _declared _ though.
If he’d followed the procedure instead of pulling a fast one, he would have been left alone, but now he has to deal with all of this.

Even the poor dog looks mortified by him.

There must be a lack of real crime in the country
