Tens of thousands of protesters rally against populist Serbian government • FRANCE 24 English

tear gas clouds the air in central Bgrade as Serbian police move in to disperse demonstrators just hours earlier the rally had begun peacefully tens of thousands flooded the streets Saturday demanding early elections and an end to government corruption the movement driven by students and now in its eighth month has already forced the resignation of the prime minister and several ministers but protesters say their fight is far from over
we are here because we cannot take it anymore this has been going on for too long it is time to finally cut all this off today we are here to change Serbia to change Serbia and to finally see an end to this government somehow I don’t know get those elections to call them and yes I hope that they will be as fair as possible because there will never be completely fair ones well the hope is that something will change that after 30 years we’ll be able to truly live in the society we’ve been fighting for since the ’90s that’s why I’m here president Alexander Vuch has dismissed the protests accusing organizers of being puppets of foreign powers bent on destabilizing the country police say they made several arrests during Saturday’s demonstration meanwhile in front of the presidential palace supporters of the government staged a counter rally we are real fighters and we came here to support the state these protests that have been happening are no good at all we’re against that serbia’s next elections aren’t scheduled until 2027 but unless their demands are met anti-corruption activists warn of mass blockades and more unrest in the months ahead

Some 140,000 anti-government protesters clashed with police in Serbia’s capital Saturday evening demanding the populist government hold early elections. Students have kept up protests in recent months demanding justice for 16 people killed when a train station collapsed last November – a tragedy blamed on government ineptitude and corruption.

  1. Watching what is happening in Iran (now with 700 people jailed even after the protest was suppress, plus the international affairs) give all the support possible to the students movement is a must, as not try to control it.
    imho.

  2. France support dictator Vucic becase he gived them airport in Belgrade ,take a credit from France bank to buy French Raffals ,EU want lithium from Serbia and dont care about Serbia became mafia state

  3. Let's hope the protesters can do what their government just won't: to restore a peaceful, non-threatening democracy in Serbia!

  4. Serbian custom officers are always stopping tourists and check luggages , just something very normal , personal belongings they say you violate laws , and asking for tips ,

  5. Serbs live in the wrong continent. They moved to eu with force from Russia back in 6th century. The place they are now, isn’t theirs to begin with. Serbs killed innocent native people in Balkan and now claim that land as theirs. Exactly what Russians are doing. Read Serb immigration during 6th century, casualties of innocent Balkan people. Serbs are never going to be kind or friendly let alone peaceful. They’re protesting to gain control of more land, and create greater Serbia, listen to their chants. This means to kill more innocent people in Balkans and get more land. Kind of what Russia is doing. Shame on Eu leaders for keeping a door open to evil!

  6. c'mon guys all The ''supporters'' of the criminal Vucic are OLD PEOPLE
They are all paid up to make conflict with the citizens and create chaos and fake love for the president
you wont find a single young group of people who support the president! There is one small group with fake paid actor (students) but those are not real citizens
They are not even from Serbia!

  7. bulgaria protested over the weekend, too. but not a single word about it in msm. why? because that demo was not sponsored by soros & co.?

  8. Where have i seen this before 🤔. Oh yeah, Ukraine, Georgia , Nicaragua, Argentina, Chile , Afghanistan.
