Boris Johnson faces a further “partygate” police fine after giving a speech at a Downing Street leaving party for a long-standing aide, The Telegraph can disclose.

The Prime Minister is facing another punishment after attending and giving a speech at the party for Lee Cain, his outgoing director of communications, on Nov 13, 2020, according to sources close to the investigation.

Alcohol was consumed by some at the event, but it is not known whether Mr Johnson had a drink.

However it is understood that he remained at the gathering for some time, making it more difficult for him to argue that it was a work event and he had a “reasonable excuse” for being there.

A report by the former Whitehall ethics chief Sue Gray will be critical of Mr Johnson’s attendance at the event, increasing the likelihood that he will receive another fixed penalty notice.

  2. I got ambushed by a cake, ohh arghhhh that was last time. I wasn’t there, the cops are lying,.. I’ve got to save Ukraine, CORBYN made me do it.

    Boris’ Life Matters!!!!

  3. How has he not resigned yet? I seriously don’t get how there isn’t immense pressure to resign

Polls are absolutely plummeting, he’s broken the law and yet the Tory party are bizarrely fucking sticking by him? Makes absolutely no sense

  4. People still blame corbyn. He doesn’t even have the whip.

People still blame Labour. They’ve not been in power for 12 years.

I actually dispare for this country, because the dickheads outweigh the normal ones.

  5. The Conservatives are waiting to see what happens in the council elections.

If they do badly then he’s out. If they don’t then they know the public doesn’t care

  6. It’s important to remember that a fixed penalty notice is a voluntary thing. By paying it you are accepting that you committed the offence. If you wish to dispute the decision of the police to issue you with a fine, you can refuse to pay and force the Crown Prosecution Service to actually charge you with the offence and take you to court.

So not only has Johnson broken the law, potentially twice, but it looks like he admits that he has done so…
