Day 1 of shitposting about EE Dance theatre

  1. Daily reminder that Derry is not allowed to develop or progress because it’s 70% Catholic

  2. For those unaware, in May this year the Arts Council of Northern Ireland abruptly cutting all funding to a venue named Echo Echo dance theatre in central Derry. They have not provided any reasoning outside a (to my knowledge) unpublished “independent report”.

Meanwhile, that same week, they lobbed 30,000 pounds to 3 bands wanting to celebrate the killing of a man in 1989. No, not just “the 12th”, they want to celebrate a murder of a innocent person.

Anyway il see how long I can do this. It would be hilarious if this keeps up till September, when the Echo Echo company will run out of funds. Keeping in the mind this company has hosted many of events and community schemes in the past 5 years despite being based on a previously derelict eyesore.

  3. No infrastructure west of the Bann lads yous know the rules

  4. Derry arts organisations got a tidy fortune when they got a sympathy vote for city of culture, and they pissed most of it away.

Art funding for marching bands is a fucking disgrace though.

  5. These folks and folkettes are legends and give a shed tonne more value back to Derry/Londonderry in return for very little capital.

    I agree 💯%

  6. Though I have not been, I have it on good authority (from good people from law abiding stock) that West of the Bann is nought but bogland filled with Woodkerne. There is but one city, if you could call it that, but it is so filled with Papishers practicing priestcraft that it more closely resembles something from Dante’s Inferno.

I welcome these funding decisions and hope the Arts Council keep up the good work.

  7. Have they considered rebranding to attract new funding? How do you spell “EE” in Ulster Scots

  8. Sectarian bands shouldn’t get any government funding, regardless of whatever distasteful reason they’re marching for. They can raise their own if they want.

This shouldn’t be controversial or impractical or a political impossibility.

    But it is.
