MEDORA, N.D. (KFYR) – Vice President JD Vance toured Medora for Independence Day during his visit to North Dakota. He said he is in North Dakota for a family vacation.
From the airport in Dickinson, Vance and his family’s motorcade traveled to the construction site where the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library is being built in Medora, North Dakota.
According to the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library Foundation, while at the site, the second family saw renderings of future exhibits and signed the guestbook, making them the first to do so.
The Vances also had lunch catered by The Farmhouse Cafe in Medora at the site.
The current Vice President is the first VP since Theodore Roosevelt to travel to the city, which is located two miles from the National Park named for the 26th President.
The library will open next year for America’s 250th birthday.
The Vice President met with members of the news media earlier in the day at the airport in Dickinson, where he answered questions about the passage of the Big Beautiful Bill, his visit to the Peace Garden State, and other topics.
