  25. To be fair, it wasn’t *that* great a run. There was that whole slavery thing that never completely went away, the genocide of the people who already lived on the land the USA occupied, and myriad other despicable acts.

    Is it the darkest it’s been? Is this worse than the 1930s? Is this worse than the 1860s? 

    There have been plenty of times that have been quite bad for the whole country. Politically. Socially. Economically. 

    Hell for certain groups like black people it’s been pretty bad for most of it. 

    So it’s a bit premature to pull the plug or say the last rights. Enough of our government still works. It’s time for people to organize, to fight, to raise awareness. 

    Enough of this nihilism BS. Things look bad. And they will likely get worse before the get better. And things might get a lot worse. But now is not the time to give up. 

  32. Things,are bad yes but we’re far from done. Evidence the no kings celebration a couple weeks ago. That sentiment is real, the turnout really happened and we are not done yet.
