paris swelters under a blanket of stifling heat tourists come to visit the capital have struggled to handle the unprecedented heat wave we made a schedule for the for the trip but we have to split like uh early activities and the evening activities cuz we have an elder person and we have to look for a place to settle down and drink some water cuz it’s hard to stay outside in the middle of the day driven by what meteorologists call a heat dome hot air is trapped above the region while cooler systems are blocked out and it’s set to get even hotter with temperatures peaking Wednesday scorching forecasts could continue into the middle of next week in the south of the country temperatures climbed to over 40° over the weekend and multiple wildfires have broken out across France since Friday fueled by hot and dry weather sunday evening an interministerial meeting was held in Paris to coordinate response to the blazing temperatures so we’re entering a period of intense weather it’s very widespread and looks set to last a long time we have the two major challenges that we have to manage with our colleagues first there are the consequences in terms of public health because those most affected are the most vulnerable then there’s our contact with the mayors who are already taking action the government has placed 84 of France’s 101 departments under alert for the heatwave urging citizens to stay out of the sun and check on vulnerable populations notably the elderly and the handicapped amid the rising temperatures many schools across the country have announced that they will close during the beginning of the week

France’s national weather agency placed Paris and 15 other departments on its highest weather alert level for July 1 as a record heatwave grips Europe.

EU here it is past 8:00 evening 33C I went to mailbox 55 mtr and put 11 water bowls in patio for birds and my visitor cat, water few plants, was outside 7 minutes, back indoors refill water bottles in my kitchen suddenly start getting dizzy so went to lay down on couch sofa. Heat outside is horrible with health issues.

  9. Do the touristy thing early in the day and then find yourself a café, bistro or brasserie, with AC bien sûr, and spend a few hours partaking of some food, some wine, some more food, some more wine. It’s Paris🍷 for goodness sake. And don’t forget to drink some water here and there😁

  16. Duhhhh…. be informed. EVERY summer in europe for at least 10 years has had a sweltering heat wave. I'd recommend visiting in spring or fall, but thats when i visit to avoid the millions of tourists
