  1. Ironically the red states will be punished more than the blue states with Trump’s legislation. Rural hospitals will close now that Medicaid is cut. What will happen to the people in nursing homes paid for by Medicaid when those funds dry up?

  2. I mean I think Abbott shouldn’t be governor so he’s at least right there.

  3. 23 kids are missing from a Christian camp and all they can do sell shit cologne, fantasize about immigrants getting eaten by alligators while dancing to poor people no longer getting healthcare.

  4. Fun fact: Texas has a horrible practice of simply not voting:

Only around 25% of Texans actually make an effort to vote

  5. And with TS brewing off GA and SC, it appears that the potential for loss of life is higher with the gutting of FEMA and the NOAA. Then the floods in TX, and the aftermath of stagnant water-borne diseases they can count on the CDC to be at the top of their game….oh wait. My bad.

  6. I can’t wait until Trump cancels the ADA and out of loyalty to his nibs, Abbott feels compelled to remove all wheelchair ramps and handicapped parking spaces.

  7. How long until the flood of people from Texas, and those from other red states, start hurting the blue states with their immigration? The west coast is about to get inundated with new folks. We should be a wall to keep maga out.

  8. This is coming from the guy who couldn’t handle running six different casinos he bankrupted

  9. Here come all the disgusting comments politicizing this tragedy. And before everyone leaps with their claws out I’m a Democrat.

I mean holy shit they’re still looking for drowned 3rd graders and half of you are almost gleeful in these comments. Read the room for Pete’s sake.

  10. The idea that FEMA’s role should be delegated to 50 states is idiotic. So now each state needs a stockpile of heavy equipment? Each state needs full time, trained employees to stand by in case of disaster? Instead of one stockpile and one staff that can go anywhere needed in the US?

It’s as dumb as having separate fire trucks on each block in case there’s a fire.

  11. FEMA is hoping for disaster assistance itself. It is toast.

  12. Yall, the glee and gloating in this thread is absolutely fucked. The campers affected are from all over Texas, not that county. Even if they were local, these are kids dying and they haven’t voted for shit. Have some compassion for once.

  13. It’s not only FEMA, it’s NOAA, and early warnings of potentially threatening weather events, that are being effected too.

Not saying NOAA could have made a difference in the tragedy in Texas this week, and my heart goes out to those effected and for the loss of life.

However, other early warning opportunities will be missed due to defunding as this USA today article describes:

[Dramatic budget cuts at NOAA could put weather forecasts in peril, lives in danger](https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2025/06/24/noaa-budget-cuts-weather-forecasts-dire-impact/84064074007/)

  14. It’s real simple: Your political affiliation has consequences.

Support a leader who feeds the dark seed of bigotry in your heart and you will reap pain and suffering.

  15. They won’t learn. They’ll welcome DJT with open arms with his single penny of relief like a true God-Emporer.
Smiles on everyone’s faces looking to get their 15-minutes of fame on the TV to thank the Dear Leader they helped into office.

  16. This is all just tragic… But at least ted Cruz is enjoying his vacation

  17. Also pulling funding for the national weather service so thats neat.

  18. I hate to be spiteful, but in light of losing my healthcare, my elderly mother’s healthcare and SNAP. FUCK THEM!!! Have the day you voted for!!

  19. Man, I grew up in Kerrville and it looks absolutely nothing like this. If you’re going to try to leverage the disaster at *least* use a picture of the right city, there’s plenty of footage.

  20. Democrats could have stopped this storm with the Jewish space laser and chose not to do it.

Biden is squarely to blame for this.

  21. Agree with the sentiment. Just FYI, the I told you so’s ring poorly on the ground here with 24 confirmed dead and lack of clarity on the 20 young girls 8-12 missing from a summer camp. Be kind.

Desmond Tutu embraced those who persecuted him under apartheid. He saw them as victims for the damage done to their souls and the pain that was fertile grounds for hate & atrocities. He wrote a book on forgiveness-https://bookey.podbean.com/e/embracing-hope-desmond-tutu-and-the-path-to-forgiveness/

You cannot hate someone into loving their neighbor. You cannot break a people’s spirit by bombing them. Love and compassionate community building is how we heal. It’s the only way.

They have love in their hearts. It’s the pain twisted into hate and systemic indoctrination that’s the problem. We lost the battle of hearts and minds with purity tests and brow beating. Listen, engage, debate, and educate. Do the work. Don’t lead with your position without discussion and understanding that builds a common framework for genuine debate.

We need to be for something bigger again, dream in the JFK Camelot image again… we need to aspire to be the city on the hill and show a brighter future.

  22. Sucks to be you Kerr County. I’ll have a steak and beer tonight to celebrate your loss.

  23. Yall are so sick. Bc they voted for Trump they deserve to die from flash flooding? How do you even know that everyone affected even voted for Trump??? Texas is a big place regardless of how counties voted. There are also lots of undocumented people in Texas. God I fucking hate this liberal tendency to blame victims of marginalization for their oppression bc their governments are right wing/republican. Ik I’ll be downvoted for this but yall should be ashamed
