Hoopte altijd dat de EU er tussen zou komen, maar die hoop begin ik stillaan te verliezen… is dit de toekomst dan echt?

  2. Ik zie het probleem niet, maar weet wel dat in dit opzicht ik tegendraads ben in de kunstwereld. Rammstein werd gecanceld omwille van betichtingen, werd niet meer gespeeld. Idem een tijd geleden met Michael Jackson, Kanye zul je ook niet meer horen op de radio. Alle kunst van Fabre moest weg. Allemaal gebeurtenissen die ik niet kan vatten. Ik ben fan van het werk en niet van de artiest.

  3. Als het goede muziek is en mensen willen ernaar luisteren dan kunt ge er niet veel tegen doen denk ik.

    Het probleem in mijn ogen gaat eerder zijn als Spotify/Youtube/Apple hun eigen AI muziek gaan pushen in het algoritme omdat ze dan geen royalties moeten betalen en/of dat de andere muziek wordt overspoeld door AI die albums 100x sneller kan maken.

  4. We need EU wide regulations. For anyone who doesn’t see a problem in this, then you’re pretty much falling for a scam and don’t care about artists and musicians as a whole. Even more if you’re a Spotify subscriber. Artists have always been way underpaid by these platforms, while profits are being reinvested in truly awful things. Daniel Ek is one of the biggest asshole in the music industry, putting millions made on the back of musicians into some AI-weaponry focused company. And This Velvet Underground situation is even more infuriating, because it is clear that Spotify pushed this fake band into hundreds of thousands of people’s daily rotation and playlists. You can’t be ok with this, unless you don’t give a crap about art and the people behind it. It also means that you shouldn’t be allowed to enjoy art if you’re ok with this. You just don’t understand what creating music is about, and definitely don’t care about the wellbeing of most artists.

  5. Boycott spotify & steun artiesten door cd’s of digitale downloads te kopen op bandcamp. Streaming is sowieso onethisch qua hoe weinig artiesten betaald worden, maar spotify is hierbij de grootste boosdoener. $0.003 per stream op spotify, $0.008 op youtube music. Naast het steunen van artiesten geniet je ook van hogere kwaliteit muziek in plaats van lage kwaliteit mp3 streamen.

  6. Kvolg zelf een paar AI artieste op Spotify, kzie hier geen probleem in. Muziek Is muziek, zou nice zijn als de artiste waar de AI van heeft geleert royalties te geve

  7. Wat is het verschil met artiesten die hun teksten/ muziek niet zelf maken? Die autotune gebruiken of soms zelfs niet eens zelf zingen?

    Voor echt talent zal er altijd een markt zijn. Dit groepje zal geen 50.000 man naar Brussel brengen zoals Rammstein of Beyonce.

  8. evolve or die. of hebt u elke keer een klassiek kamerorkest in de kamer als u muziek op wilt ? elke vernieuwing word tegen gemorreld. het is wat je er mee doet of waar het voor dient. If one is entertained maakt het dan uit of het ai is of weken aan geknoeid is door iemand maar hetzelfde klinkt ?
    performance zal belangrijker worden. de sync knop werd ook nogal een pak op gehaat door menig dj. en hoewel het zonder zeker ook gaat is het voor sommige zaken (zoals wedding dj spelen) gewoon handig en geen haan die er nog om kraait.

  9. Spotify uses these tactics to keep the amounts of money low they have to pay out to real bands/artists. Yeah, it’s a disgusting scam, look it up if you are interested. May I suggest the French Deezer, that has a more fair system and is checked by French authorities to keep things honest.

  10. It’s already too late. Musical reproductions were already losing value, (think MP3s, streaming). With AI, music itself is not worth anything any more.

    I can foresee a future in the not too distant future where AI is creating personalised music for each individual, like a soundtrack to their life, in real time, only to be ever heard in that moment and then discarded forever.

    You could force artists and distributers to label music as AI but it’s just a matter of time before all digital music tools will be using some form of Ai, so even the label itself will become meaningless at some point.

    If you are a human artist and want to make money from your craft, I would be thinking of doing live performances and creating experiences that aren’t easily replicated using the digital form. It perhaps won’t scale as well as selling cds for example, but that is one aspect that won’t be replaced by AI anytime soon.

  11. Iemand die muziek maakt is creatief, maar iemand die muziek maakt met AI en dit uitbrengt is toch gelijkwaardig creatief? Vroeger net dezelfde discussie toen de eerste elektronische muziek gemaakt werd met de computer, toen riepen ze ook dat het geen echte muziek was. Voor mij niet van belang of Taylor Swift nu een echte vrouw is of een AI creatie, zolang de muziek maar leuk is.

    The best indicator would be the lyrics I’d say since they don’t really hold a proper structure, it’s just a list of sentences as an AI would generate it. And the pacing of the songs.

    But honestly I wouldn’t notice it immediately if music like this would play somewhere in the background while having a drink. Probably why it has that many listeners.

  14. Als artiest: mijn distributor heeft een interessante nieuwe opdracht wanneer je een plaat wilt uitbrengen. Je moet aantonen in je muzieksoftware dat je de plaat echt hebt gemaakt (beetje handelingen uitvoeren in een screen capture video). Dit alleen is momenteel genoeg om alle AI muziek te filteren.
    Spijtig genoeg is er niks aan te doen als het van bv Spotify zelf komt…evil company gonna evil
