The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in Zurich, Switzerland, was inaugurated in the presence of members of the diplomatic and business community from the region. The State Secretary, Carolina Perebinos, emphasized that Switzerland has been and remains a reliable partner of the Republic of Moldova, reports IPN.

“This symbolic moment represents not only the opening of a new representative office in one of the most dynamic economic and cultural centers of Europe, but also our deep commitment to strengthening the relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Swiss Confederation,” stated the Secretary of State, as quoted in a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Carolina Perebinos expressed her conviction that the new honorary consulate will actively contribute to this mission by strengthening bilateral dialogue, encouraging investments, and promoting the potential of the Republic of Moldova.

The expansion of the Moldovan presence in Switzerland was also welcomed by the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the Swiss Confederation, Vladimir Cuc, who affirmed that the opening of the honorary consulate in Zurich will grant Moldova increased visibility in Switzerland – “an essential element for promoting economic cooperation.”

The event included discussions in an informal setting and a tasting of Moldovan wines.
