A very under-discussed part of the Big Billionaire Bill is the estate tax giveaway that basically says: if you’re a fail son or fail daughter of a billionaire, you get to be one too and pay almost nothing in estate taxes. It’s a handout for the richest families in America.

  1. Isn’t the exemption only 15 million? Pretty far cry from a billion. It currently is about 14 million, so not a huge jump.

  2. Wait… did no taxes on tips make it into the Bill? That’s law now?

  3. This is a symptom of a much larger problem. The broader issue is the widespread pullback in funding—not just from hospitals, but also from nonprofits and local governments that rely on Medicaid dollars. This funding reduction is going to lead to significant layoffs in the healthcare sector. Those job losses will ripple through local economies, because healthcare workers tend to earn decent wages and spend money in their communities.

Cuts to SNAP (food assistance) will further hurt both small and large grocery stores, as well as convenience stores. These businesses will be forced to raise prices, lay off workers, or even shut down entirely.

We’re also likely to see a rise in homelessness, substance abuse, and suicide rates over the next four years—until someone steps in to fix the damage caused by Trump’s so-called “big, beautiful” bill.

On top of that, tens of thousands of federal workers are being laid off. These are real jobs—disappearing from both cities and rural communities. Add to this the mass deportations, which will shrink the labor force for many jobs that Americans historically don’t take.

The result? This bill and its underlying agenda could do serious—possibly irreversible—damage to the economies of every state in the country. I urge people to educate themselves on the real-world consequences of this law.

Put simply, this is shaping up to be the largest transfer of wealth to the ultra-wealthy elites in American history.

  4. So we want them to give up what they’ve built when they die?

  5. Nobody cares. Conservatives think they’ve won something I’m not sure what.

  6. I hate it when parents get to give to their children, that money should be used for bombs for Israel

  7. That’s wild, we should literally have large % estate taxes. If daddy and mommy were very successful then yea sure you can get a head start from them but anything beyond a few million? 100% estate tax if it’s more than (minimum wage) * (median life expectancy). That way if they want to keep wages in poverty range and literally kill people with their policies such as health care it affects them too

  8. Look… these billionaires are not breaking the law. FIX THE TAX CODE. know why they don’t? Because they cave under those billionaires. This is your democrat party as well.

  9. The Walton sisters never worked a day in their lives, but fight against unions and lobby politicians to keep minimum wage low so we can subsidize their workers’ wages in the form of SNAP, etc. America is an oligarchy. Don’t ever forget it.
